SMM News: recently, the 2020 third-generation semiconductor support new energy vehicle innovation and development summit forum was held in Nansha, Guangzhou. During the forum, the third generation semiconductor innovation center in Nansha District of Guangzhou was officially established.

Guangdong Xin Ju Neng Semiconductor Co., Ltd., Guangdong Jingke Electronics Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Nansha Wafer Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd., Evergrande New Energy Automobile (Guangdong) Co., Ltd., Shandong University New Generation Semiconductor Materials Research Institute, the third generation semiconductor industry technology innovation strategic alliance representatives of the first batch of sponsors signed the contract to substantially promote the construction of the innovation center.

It is reported that under the guidance of the Management Committee of Guangzhou Nansha Development Zone, the Innovation Center is a non-profit organization with an innovative mechanism and system based on the basic ideas of enterprise leadership, industry participation, government support, and open sharing. It aims to promote the transformation and upgrading of Guangdong and Nansha new energy vehicle industry and the innovation and development of the third generation semiconductor strategic emerging industry. To create an influential source and service platform for the integration and innovation of new energy vehicles and the third generation semiconductors in China.

In recent years, Nansha has continuously strengthened its policy support for the third generation semiconductors and issued the "measures for supporting the Development of the New Generation Information Technology Industry in Nansha District of Guangzhou City". We will give priority to supporting the R & D of advanced semiconductor industry technology and the development of industrial clusters for the core components of new energy vehicles and artificial intelligence, and strive to build Nansha into an important demonstration zone and industrial agglomeration area for the application and innovation of third-generation semiconductors in China.

At present, Nansha has formed a modern industrial system with strategic emerging industrial clusters such as 100 billion-level automobile industry, equipment manufacturing industry, shipbuilding and marine engineering equipment industry as the pillar, and has formed a number of related industrial layouts in the field of the third generation semiconductors.

Next, Nansha District will focus on new energy vehicles, charging piles, photovoltaic inverter, rail transit, energy Internet, consumer electronics and other directions, the full chain layout of the third generation semiconductors, while deepening cooperation among host manufacturers, taking automotive semiconductors as a starting point to promote the development and application of the third generation semiconductors. Relying on the construction of the Guangzhou College of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) and the National University of Science and Technology, Nansha will accelerate the construction of an integrated circuit talent training and agglomeration system, and at the same time establish and improve the financial support system to support the great-leap-forward development of the third generation semiconductor industry.
