However, Tesla gave up a few months after the release of the version. Now, Tesla no longer accepts new orders for the $35000 Model 3 or even produces the model, but the company will sell the standard Plus (Standard Range Plus) version of the Model 3, which starts at $38000 and gets a $3000 discount by locking in some software features. In this way, some buyers can also buy cars for $35000.

Tesla said, "in view of the fact that the standard Plus version of Model 3 is more popular than the standard version, we decided to simplify our production operations to better optimize costs, minimize complexity and streamline operations. As a result, Model 3 Standard will now be a limited version of Standard Plus, and we have removed it from the online order catalog. If consumers still want to buy the Standard version, they need to call us or go to our offline store to buy it. "

In the past year and a half, Tesla buyers can buy a Model 3 for as little as $35000. But the 2021 Model 3 can no longer enjoy that price. Tesla has told his employees that the 2021 Model 3 is not allowed to be downgraded to a standard battery life version and sold for $35000, according to people familiar with the matter.

Employees of the 2020 Model 3 Standard Range Plus, models that are still in stock can still sell them to customers for $35000 by restricting certain software features, but this is not allowed on the 2021 Model 3.
