SHANGHAI, Nov 13 (SMM) – Operating rates across lead-acid battery producers in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei and Hebei provinces averaged 74.59% in the week ended November 13, unchanged from the previous week.

End-user demand was tepid, especially demand for e-bike batteries, which dampened distributors’ enthusiasm for purchasing and led to an inventory buildup at some battery makers. Meanwhile, consumption of automotive batteries was stable, and large-scale battery producers operated at full capacity.

Some small and medium-scale battery makers may likely to reduce output next week if inventories continue to rise.
