Primary lead smelters operating rates rose to 61% this week

Operating rates across primary lead smelters in Henan, Hunan and Yunnan provinces gained 2.1 percentage points on the week to 61% in the week ended November 13, showed an SMM survey.

SHANGHAI, Nov 13 (SMM) — Operating rates across primary lead smelters in Henan, Hunan and Yunnan provinces gained 2.1 percentage points from the prior week to 61% in the week ended November 13, showed an SMM survey.

The average operating rate in Hunan increased 7.1 percentage points on the week to 44.8% as Hunan Yuteng has gradually restored production.

Production resumption at Yunnan Gejiu Chuangyuan lifted the average local operating rate by 0.4 percentage point to 42.3%.

The average operating rate remained unchanged at 78.4% this week.

Sichuan Sihuan Zinc & Germanium Technology’s lead production line will come online in November, with planned monthly output of 10,000 mt.
