Tesla may expand Canadian sales and delivery network

SMM: according to reports, Tesla recently released a number of job recruitment messages in (Saskatoon), Saskatchewan, (Winnipeg), Winnipeg, Manitoba, and (Halifax), Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Tesla posted recruitment messages for sales consultants in Saskatoon, Manitoba and Halifax, indicating that the company plans to set up more sales and delivery centers in Canada to expand its influence in the Canadian market.

Earlier, Tesla changed his strategy in Canada and suspended his car delivery service. After the change in service policy, Tesla advised consumers to pick up their cars from service centers in Ontario or Quebec. Consumers can also choose to have Tesla deliver the vehicle from Ontario to Ottawa (Ottawa), Lawrence (Lawrence), Vaughn (Vaughan) or Oakville (Oakville),.

Not surprisingly, Tesla's decision disappointed many consumers. After all, taking the car directly to the consumer's home has always been the most convenient place for Tesla to buy a car, especially in the face of a global pandemic.

Tesla's recent recruitment information may provide us with clues about the company's future plans in Canada. Although the car delivery service has been stopped, Tesla has not stopped the process of expanding the sales and delivery network in Canada.

Before Canada, Tesla adopted similar strategies in China and other countries. In November, media reported the company's plans to open Tesla centers in China, which will provide vehicle delivery and maintenance services to car owners.

Tesla set up a sales and service center for existing car owners and potential buyers in Northern Ireland in August 2020. The service center, called Tesla Service Plus, covers an area of 9500 square feet and is responsible for service, delivery and sales, according to local media reports.

Tesla's planned centres in Saskatchewan, Winnipeg, Manitoba and Halifax, Nova Scotia, are likely to follow a model similar to that of China, Ireland and Germany. Tesla's move should make it easier for consumers to buy cars and repair and maintain them.

Developing local processing capacity is not simply a matter of building another plant next to a mine. It requires a country to simultaneously possess reliable energy supply, logistics infrastructure, chemical-industry capabilities, engineering expertise, customer qualification systems, access to financing, policy continuity and transparent pricing mechanisms. Resources can attract investment, but they cannot guarantee project success.

Ambatovy restarts its cobalt and nickel production
After several months of technical issues and operational adjustments, the Ambatovy mining project in Madagascar has announced the gradual resumption of its nickel and cobalt production in Toamasina. As one of the largest foreign investments in the country, the project plays a significant role in the national economy. Its mining operations in the Moramanga region and processing activities in Toamasina make substantial contributions to exports and government revenues. The restart comes amid a gradual recovery in global demand for strategic metals such as nickel and cobalt, particularly driven by growing demand from the electric vehicle battery and energy storage sectors, creating new opportunities for Madagascar’s mining industry.
