Japanese new ship export orders increased by 62.1% compared with August.

SMM10 March 15: according to data released by the Japan Shipbuilding exporters Association ((JSEA)), export orders for new Japanese ships in September increased by 62.1% in tonnage terms over the previous month, from 9 in August to 16, totaling 939500 tons, including 10 bulk carriers and 6 oil tankers.

In the first nine months of this year, Japanese shipbuilders received new export orders for 99 ships, totaling 4.93 million tons, down 26.6 per cent from a year earlier.

On the other hand, in September, Japan delivered 16 export ships, totaling 693439 tons, compared with 10 ships exporting 520.876 tons in August.

Meanwhile, in the first nine months of this year, Japan delivered 205 ships for export, totaling 9436512 tons, down 9 per cent from a year earlier.
