Tesla lowers the US price of Model S and will produce 7-seat Model Y

SMM: according to reports, on October 14, Elon Musk said on Twitter that Tesla will further reduce the price of the long-lasting version of Model S in the United States to $69420.

Musk tweeted: "the battle is over!" The prophecy will come true. The price of Model S will be changed to $69420 tonight! " This is the second time that Model S has cut its price this week. On Oct. 13, the price of the model in the United States fell 4% to $71990. Tesla shares rose 3.3 per cent to $461.30 at the close of trading on Oct. 14. On the same day, Tesla also announced that the price of Model S in China had also dropped by 3%, after the company had already lowered the starting price of Model 3 in China.

Analysts say, Model S's price cut is likely to be a response to electric vehicle start-up Lucid Motors. Earlier, Lucid announced that its high-end electric sedan, the Air, would start at $69900 and would enjoy a $7500 tax credit for electric vehicles from the US government, which Tesla's vehicles no longer enjoy.

In addition, Musk also announced the production time and the latest information about the seven-seat version of Model Y. Delivery of the Model Y began in the US in March, and Mr Musk said in June that Tesla was expected to start delivering a seven-seater version of the model sometime in the fourth quarter of this year.

"production of the seven-seat version will start next month and the first delivery will begin in early December," Musk said on Twitter. The 7-seat version of Model Y will add a third row of seats, but it is not clear what the third row of seats will look like. Tesla's previously released larger Model X also has a third row of seats, but the interior space of the Model Y is smaller than that of the Model X.

If it is produced at the time given by Musk, the seven-seat Model Y will soon be on the road. But in general, Musk's time predictions are too optimistic. However, considering that the actual delivery time of the Model Y is earlier than he expected, it is possible that the production time of the seven-seat Model Y may be the same as he expected.

Tozero Launches Industrial Demo Plant to Recover Lithium from Waste Batteries
German company, Tozero, announced on March 27 (local time) the official launch of its industrial-scale demonstration plant. The company has built a facility at the Gendorf chemical park in Bavaria, Germany, capable of processing more than 1,500 tons of waste batteries annually. The plant is expected to recycle resources equivalent to batteries from approximately 6,000 electric vehicles per year, reducing reliance on landfill disposal.
