Shanghai bonded copper stocks added 9,000 mt from pre-holiday levels

Stocks of copper in Shanghai bonded areas increased during the National Day holidays. The closed import arbitrage window and continuous inflow of seaborne copper accounted for the increase in the bonded inventories. Stocks are expected to rise further after warehouses resume operations from the holidays.

SHANGHAI, October 9 (SMM) – Stocks of copper in Shanghai bonded areas increased during the National Day holidays. The closed import arbitrage window and continuous inflow of seaborne copper accounted for the increase in the bonded inventories. Stocks are expected to rise further after warehouses resume operations from the holidays.  


SMM data showed that the stocks added 9,000 mt from September 30 to 309,000 mt as of Friday October 9.
