Social inventories of silicon metal in China increased slightly this week.

SHANGHAI, Sep 30 (SMM) – Social inventories of silicon metal in China increased slightly this week.

SMM data showed that stocks across Huangpu port, Kunming city and Tianjin port expanded slightly by 1,000 mt from the previous week to 73,000 mt as of Wednesday September 30.

Most orders were completed last week due to tight transportation capacity and reduced freight ahead of the long holidays.

Export orders were basically completed last week considering the impact of customs declaration and shipping schedule. This accounted for the slight decrease in inland and port social inventories from the prior week.

It is expected that metal silicon inventories will continue to increase in October.
