SMM: according to reports, on the morning of September 28th, Tesla CEO Elon Musk (Elon Musk) said on Twitter that Tesla's annual production of electric vehicles by 2030 is "very likely" to reach 20 million. Achieving this output requires "unremitting excellence in execution", says Mr Musk.
In 2019, Tesla produced 365000 vehicles, while 20 million was 50 times what Tesla produced last year. Last year, Tesla sold 367500 vehicles, up 50 per cent from the previous year. In the fourth quarter of 2019, Tesla's output reached a new high of 105000 vehicles.
Mr Musk said he expected the electric car market to have an annual production capacity of 30 million vehicles over the next seven years. It is also possible, but unlikely, to achieve this goal within five years, he said.
Last week, Musk emailed all Tesla employees saying that if employees could unite and go all out, the company could set a new record in the third quarter of this year. During the epidemic, consumers cut their car purchase budgets. Tesla's sales fell 15 per cent in the first half of 2020 compared with the second half of 2019. If Tesla is to set a new record in the third quarter, their sales will need to be more than 20, 000 higher than in the last quarter.
Tesla held the much-anticipated "Battery Day" on September 22nd. At the event, Musk introduced Tesla's battery improvements, saying that the company would produce batteries with lower prices and higher capacity density in the future, but he also said that Tesla will not be able to achieve mass production of such batteries until 2022.
