China's aluminium scrap imports fell 22.2% in August

Imports of aluminium scrap stood at 72,000 mt in August, decreasing 22.2% from July and down 48.9% from a year earlier, according to the latest customs data.

SHANGHAI, Sep 29 (SMM) – Imports of aluminium scrap stood at 72,000 mt in August, decreasing 22.2% from July and down 48.9% from a year earlier, according to the latest customs data.

 

Imports totaled 553,000 mt from January to August, down 51% from a year ago.

 

There are 266,000 mt of import quotas still valid for the fourth quarter.
