[SMM practical information] A list of copper customs import and export data in August

SMM9: according to data from the General Administration of Customs, China's refined copper imports totaled 470100 tons in August, down 15.29 percent from the previous month, an increase of 62.83 percent from January to August, an increase of 37.66 percent over the same period last year; copper concentrate imports totaled 1.5867 million tons in August, down 11.6 percent from the previous month, and 12.58 percent from January to August, a decrease of 1.38 percent over the same period last year; Imports of anode copper totaled 91600 tons in August, down 7.79 percent from the previous month, up 71.72 percent from January to August, up 26.3 percent over the same period last year. Imports of scrap copper totaled 81000 tons in August, up 7.87 percent from the previous month, and decreased by 18.22 percent from January to August, a decrease of 46.21 percent. In August, copper imports totaled 53600 tons, down 6.04 percent from the previous month, and increased by 29.38 percent from January to August. Imports totaled 382000 tons, an increase of 21.17 percent over the same period last year.

In terms of export data, China's refined copper exports totaled 11300 tons in August, an increase of 8.07 percent over the previous month, a decrease of 42.95 percent from January to August, a decrease of 37.78 percent over the same period last year, and copper concentrate exports from January to August totaled 145100 tons, a decrease of 83.99 percent over the same period last year. In August, anode copper exports totaled 1 ton, an increase of 62.75 percent over the previous month, an increase of 139.38 percent from January to August, an increase of 664.09 percent over the same period last year; scrap copper exports totaled 19 tons in August, an increase of 27.54 percent over the previous month, and 27.64 percent year-on-year increase of 127 tons from January to August, an increase of 44.19 percent. Copper exports in August totaled 43000 tons, an increase of 6.02 percent over the previous month, and a year-on-year increase of 2.94 percent. From January to August, exports totaled 346200 tons, a decrease of 0.55 percent over the same period last year.
