SMM News: recently, China Nonferrous Engineering Co., Ltd. And China Enfei Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "China Enfei") successfully signed a feasibility study contract for Hobart's 300000 ton / year zinc electrolysis project in Australia with Nyrstar Hobart.

Nyrstar Hobart is a global polymetallic company and the second largest zinc producer in the world. Its plants produce more than 1 million tons of refined zinc every year. Hobart Zinc Refinery, one of the important assets of Nyrstar Hobart, began operation in 1916 and is the third oldest zinc refinery in the world. It uses the traditional roasting + leaching + electrolysis process to produce zinc.

In recent years, the Hobart refinery is faced with the limitations of operation scale and technology upgrading, as well as high operation and maintenance costs, so Nyrstar Hobart decided to adopt new technology to transform and upgrade the Hobart refinery.

Hobart 300000 t / a zinc electrolysis project is a high-end market project in which China Enfei independently participated in international bidding and won the bid, which is a milestone for China's Enfei to enter the high-end market. Nyrstar Hobart said that it hopes that China Enfei can successfully complete the delivery of the feasibility study, and then achieve long-term cooperation in the follow-up project.
