Zinc, aluminum and magnesium products of Jiuquan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. help Huawei 5G base station construction

SMM Network News: a few days ago, Jiugang zinc, aluminum and magnesium products with strong corrosion resistance in 5G base station construction for the first time, Jiuquan Iron and Steel has become a qualified supplier of Huawei.

"Huawei 5G base stations can be found from the Paracel Islands to Mount Qomolangma, from Africa to the Americas." Du Xin, director of the carbon Steel sheet Plant of Hongxing Co., Ltd., said that the complex geographical environment determines that the base station needs super corrosion-resistant "armor" to escort 5G operation, which puts forward ultra-high requirements for materials.

The zinc-aluminum-magnesium alloy coated steel plate of Jiuquan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. has super corrosion resistance, which is 10-20 times higher than that of hot-dip galvanized steel plate, and this product has the function of notch self-repair. In the corrosion environment, the coating composition can be dipped into the cross section by itself to form a dense oxidation product protection layer to restrain the continued corrosion at the notch.

As the forerunner of the production and application of new zinc-aluminum-magnesium coating materials in China, Jiuquan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. in the fight with international well-known zinc-aluminum-magnesium production enterprises, high-end zinc-aluminum-magnesium products fully demonstrate the technical strength of the industry in corrosion resistance. In the process of testing samples by Huawei for more than a year, the zinc, aluminum and magnesium products of Jiuquan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. withstood many tests such as salt spray test, coating adhesion test and coating impact resistance test after punching, bending and welding. and with the comprehensive advantages of high cost and short supply cycle, successfully replaced stainless steel, aluminum alloy plates and other metal materials, used in Huawei 5G base station construction, effectively promoted the upgrading of base station construction materials.

As of July 30, China's major consumption regions reported aluminum ingot inventory of 953,000 mt, having cumulatively destocked 512,000 mt (-35%) from the year's high of 1.465 million mt in early May. Within the week, destocking accelerated further by 53,000 mt, as expected falling below the 1 million mt mark. However, the directional divergence between warehouse withdrawals and inventory drew attention: weekly warehouse withdrawals pulled back to 127,700 mt, losing the advantage of being at a high for the same period in the past four years.
