SMM9, March 23: Brazilian steelmaker ArcelorMittal said Tuesday that it would resume operation of the No. 3 blast furnace at its Tubalang plant in the second half of October.

The company said the Tubarang blast furnace had stopped production in April and was currently under maintenance. The annual production capacity of the furnace is 2.8 million tons.

The company said it would restore equipment in the event of improved domestic demand, but three Tubarang blast furnaces would continue to operate with limited capacity.
