[BYD is said to be in talks to supply Daimler with electric car chips] Warren Buffett-backed BYD is in talks with Daimler to supply chips made by the company and used in its own electric vehicles, according to people familiar with the matter. Negotiations between BYD and Daimler over the so-called insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) are at an advanced stage, according to people familiar with the matter, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the details. IGBT is a semiconductor that is mainly used as an electronic switch in electric vehicles to reduce power consumption and improve reliability.

[BYD wins the largest pure electric bus order in Finnish history] BYD officially entered the Finnish market on Sept. 22, local time, by signing an order for 106pure electric buses with Nobina, the largest public transport operator in northern Europe. This is another major breakthrough in BYD's European territory after Germany.

Foreign media reports show that nearly 1/3 of the electric cars delivered by Tesla in the second quarter of this year came from Shanghai super factories.
