The annual production capacity of 300000 SAIC-Volkswagen new energy vehicles with a total investment of 17 billion yuan will be put into production next month.

SMM: a few days ago, we learned from SAIC-Volkswagen that as Volkswagen Group's first newly built factory specially built for the production of MEB platform models in the world, SAIC-Volkswagen New Energy vehicle Plant plans to be officially put into production in October 2020.

The new energy vehicle factory, located in Anting, Shanghai, is the latest achievement of deepening cooperation between SAIC and Volkswagen, and an important milestone in SAIC-Volkswagen's future-oriented and 2025 strategy.

It is understood that the total investment of the new plant project is about 17 billion yuan, with a planned annual production capacity of 300000 vehicles, which is currently the largest and most efficient pure electric vehicle factory in China.

In the future, the new factory will also put into production a new generation of pure electric vehicles from many brands of Volkswagen Group. Based on the MEB platform, SAIC-Volkswagen will build a family of pure electric vehicles suitable for Chinese consumers to meet the needs of different consumers.
