SMM: global (excluding China) daily output of primary aluminum fell to 69800 tons in August, the lowest in nearly three years, according to data released by the International Aluminum Association ((IAI)) on Monday.

Global primary aluminium production, excluding China, was 2.165 million tonnes in August, down slightly from the previous month and lower than the same period last year.

Note: the International Aluminum Association (IAI) currently has 27 member companies, including upstream producers of the aluminum industry chain, downstream recycling and aluminum processors. Its member companies account for more than 80 per cent of global primary aluminum production, more than 60 per cent of global bauxite and alumina production, and a large proportion of recycled aluminum production. The global primary aluminum production data released by the group on the 20th of each month are preliminary and will usually be revised in next month's report.

The following is the monthly global primary aluminum production data released by IAI since 2018: (in kilotons)
