The United Arab Emirates urgently approves the use of Chinese novel coronavirus vaccine for front-line medical staff

SMM9 March 16: bin Nasser Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention of the United Arab Emirates, announced that the country has urgently approved the use of a batch of novel coronavirus vaccine for front-line medical workers who are most at risk of infection.

The Minister of Health and Prevention of the United Arab Emirates said that the new inactivated crown vaccine developed and produced by China recently completed a clinical trial (Phase III) in the United Arab Emirates. The results show that the vaccine is safe and effective. The vaccinated subjects not only produced antibodies against COVID-19 virus, but also had no obvious side effects, and the safety of the vaccine was guaranteed.

It is reported that this batch of vaccines is a new crown inactivated vaccine developed by China National Pharmaceutical Group.

The current epidemic in the United Arab Emirates is not optimistic, with more than 500 new cases in the country for many days since September. According to data released by the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on September 15, the UAE had 674 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, another 654 cured cases and 2 new deaths. Up to now, the total number of confirmed cases in the United Arab Emirates has reached 80940, with a total of 70635 cured and 401 deaths.
