SMM: on September 10th, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers released the production and marketing situation of the automobile industry in August 2020. In that month, the overall situation of automobile production and marketing in China was stable, the output decreased slightly from the previous month, the sales volume increased slightly, and continued to grow compared with the same period last year. Specifically, China's automobile production and sales reached 2.119 million and 2.186 million respectively in August, with production down 3.7% from the previous month, sales up 3.5% from the previous month, 6.3% and 11.6% from the same period last year.

Among them, the production and sales of new energy vehicles completed 106000 and 109000 respectively, an increase of 6.0% and 11.7% month-on-month, and an increase of 17.7% and 25.8% respectively over the same period last year. Thanks to the activities of new energy going to the countryside and the support of local governments for the consumption of new energy vehicles, the market scale of new energy vehicles is steadily rising. This month, the production and sales of new energy vehicles set a new record in August.
Among the main varieties of new energy vehicles, pure electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles show an increase in production and sales compared with the same period last year. In addition, the production and sales of fuel cell vehicles have increased rapidly this month, and the performance is significantly better than last month.
From January to August, the production and sales of new energy vehicles were 602000 and 596000, down 26.2% and 26.4% respectively from the same period last year, which was 5.5% and 6.4% lower than that in January-July. Among the main varieties of new energy vehicles, compared with the same period last year, the production and sales of pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles decreased compared with the same period last year, and the rate of decline continued to narrow compared with January-July.
