General Administration of Customs: China's export data on copper, aluminum, rare earths, iron and steel are released in August.

SMM: China's trade account in US dollars in August was 58.93 billion US dollars, according to news from the General Administration of Customs on Sept. 7.

The General Administration of Customs said it imported 9.6 million tons of soybeans in August and 10.091 million tons in July. Imports were 47.48 million tons in August and 51.291 million tons in July. China imported 20.66 million tons of coal and lignite in August and 26.1 million tons in July. Iron ore and its concentrate imported 100.36 million tons in August and 113 million tons in July. Exports of rare earths were 1642 tons in August and 1620.3 tons in July. Unwrought aluminum and aluminum products exported 395000 tons in August and 373000 tons in July. Steel exports were 3.68 million tons in August and 4.176 million tons in July. The export of oil products was 4.274 million tons in August and 3.211 million tons in July. Unwrought copper and copper products imported 668000 tons in August and 527000 tons in July. Natural gas imports were 9.362 million tons in August and 7.347 million tons in July. Copper ore and its concentrate imported 1.587 million tons, compared with 1.795 million tons in July.

In the first eight months, China imported 333.46 billion integrated circuits, an increase of 22.5 percent, with a value of 1.51 trillion yuan, an increase of 15.3 percent, and 515000 cars (including chassis), a decrease of 26.6 percent, with a value of 172.42 billion yuan, a decrease of 21.6 percent.

In the first eight months, China imported 20.768 million tons of refined oil, an increase of 1.3 percent, an average import price of 2890.1 yuan per ton, down 23.7 percent, 12.189 million tons of steel, an increase of 59.6 percent, and an average import price of 5915.1 yuan per ton, down 27.6 percent.

Exports of mechanical and electrical products, textiles and plastic products increased, while clothing exports declined. In the first eight months, exports of textiles, including masks, totaled 737.55 billion yuan, an increase of 37.8 percent.

According to the General Administration of Customs, China's imports and exports of goods totaled 20.05 trillion yuan in the first eight months of this year, down 0.6 percent from the same period last year and 1.1 percentage points lower than in the previous seven months. The trade surplus was 2.05 trillion yuan, an increase of 17.2%. In August, China's foreign trade imports and exports totaled 2.88 trillion yuan, an increase of 6 percent. Of this total, exports totaled 1.65 trillion yuan, up 11.6 percent; imports totaled 1.23 trillion yuan, down 0.5 percent; and the trade surplus increased by 74.4 percent to 416.59 billion yuan.
