Chile's national copper production increased by 1% in July compared with the previous month.

SMM9 March 3: according to the Chilean Copper Commission (Cochilco) reported that Chile's national copper (Codelco) copper production in July totaled 133300 tons, up 1% from the previous month, down 4.4% from the same period last year.

Chile produced 131900 tons of copper in June.

Copper production at mines such as El Teniente and Chuquicamata in northern Chile increased in July, while production at the Andida mine declined.

Copper production at BHP Billiton's Escondida mine, the world's largest copper mine, fell 4.6 per cent in July from a month earlier, causing Chilean copper production to fall by about 1 per cent in July from a month earlier.

In addition, the monthly copper output of Collahuasi and Los Pelambres7 increased slightly compared with the previous month.

Copper production in the world's second largest copper producer fell 2.2% in July from a year earlier.
