Secondary lead smelters operating rates rose to 60%

Operating rates across licensed smelters of secondary lead in Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan and Guizhou averaged 60% in the week ended August 21, up 1.8 percentage points from the previous week, showed an SMM survey.

SHANGHAI, Aug 21 (SMM) – Operating rates across licensed smelters of secondary lead in Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan and Guizhou averaged 60% in the week ended August 21, up 1.8 percentage points from the previous week, showed an SMM survey.

The average operating rateS in Anhui and Henan were unchanged on week at 48.4% and 70.2% respectively.

The average operating rate in Jiangsu rose 6.7 percentage points from the prior week to 80% as New Chunxing ramped up production in a high season.

The average operating rate edged 0.2 percentage point higher at 44.2% in Guizhou. Jinlong, Dingxin and Huoqilin continued to cut output due to environmental inspections, while Yongxin recovered from maintenance.
