Among the 12 world steel enterprises on the list, there are seven Chinese iron and steel enterprises, namely, China Baowu Iron and Steel Group, Hegang Group, Qingshan holding Group, Jiangsu Shagang Group, Angang Group, Shougang Group and Shandong Iron and Steel Group. The revenue of this year's Fortune 500 companies reached an all-time high of $33 trillion, close to the combined GDP of China and the United States. The threshold for entry into the rankings (minimum sales revenue) has also been raised from $24.8 billion to $25.4 billion.
The most striking change in this year's ranking is the historic leap made by mainland Chinese companies: this year, the number of mainland Chinese companies, including Hong Kong, reached 124. With companies from Taiwan, a total of 133 Chinese companies are on the list. Among them, Sinopec, State Grid and PetroChina ranked second, third and fourth respectively.
