SHANGHAI, Aug 5 (SMM) – Global sales of Tesla Model 3 exceeded 140,000 units, and BAIC planned to raise no more than 5.5 billion yuan for projects development.
Global sales of Tesla Model 3 exceeded 140,000 units
Global new energy passenger vehicle (NEPV) sales stood at 230,000 units in June, up 59% on month, but down 13.1% on year. Tesla sold 35,900 units of Model 3 globally in June, of which the Chinese market accounted for 41.7%, sending total Model 3 sales to more than 140,000 units. Sales of Renault Zoe soared whopping 180.1% on month, setting a new single-month high in 2020.
NIO delivered 3,533 new cars in July, recording a new high
NIO delivered 3,533 new electric vehicles (EVs) in July, quadrupling shipments in the same period last year. This included 923 units of ES8, soaring 463% on year, and 2,610 units of ES6, up 288% from a year earlier. The EV maker shipped total 49,600 vehicles by the end of July, and new orders in the same month rose to a new all-time high.
As of August 3, NIO has opened 138 stores in 87 Chinese cities, and 141 charging facilities covering 64 cities.
XPeng delivered 1,641 electric vehicles in July
XPeng shipped 1,641 electric vehicles (EV) in July. The EV maker has opened 128 stores and 65 services centers nationwide by the end of June.
LG Chem’s battery business sales reached 16.6 billion yuan in the second quarter, a new high in history
LG Chem reported a second-quarter battery sales of 2.82 trillion won (about 16.6 billion yuan), and its operating profits reached 155.5 billion won (about 910 million yuan). Both were the highest in history. Electric vehicle sales increased as China and Europe strengthened environmental protection, which led to the surge in battery businesses.
BAIC planned to raise no more than 5.5 billion yuan for projects development
BAIC planned to raise no more than 5.5 billion yuan for development of high-end ARCFOX vehicle models, 5G networks and charging business systems. BAIC Group plans to subscribe no more than 1.63 billion yuan, BAIC Guangzhou no more than 344 million yuan and Bohai Motor no more than 166 million yuan.
