In recent years, the primary aluminum production capacity increment mainly comes from Inner Mongolia, Yunnan, Guangxi and other hydropower-rich areas. Shandong and Xinjiang are the two major primary aluminum production bases in China. The extraction of primary aluminum consumes electricity, and power generation depends on coal, natural gas, nuclear fission, water, sun and wind. Those who rely on coal and natural gas for power generation can only maintain the status quo and should not be expanded for aluminum. It is best to develop in the direction of reduction in order to protect the environment. Aluminum plants in Shandong and Henan have made a good start in this respect and have moved to areas rich in hydropower and new energy.

Geely Chinalco all-aluminum TX car on the road
