SMM7 March 31:

This week, domestic rare earths resumed the rising trend of some products, including light, medium and heavy rare earths, especially praseodymium, neodymium, terbium, holmium and other products.

In terms of light rare earths, the price of praseodymium-neodymium products has risen again this week. First, there is a slight increase in downstream enquiries, and second, the market is still expecting the addition of light rare earth products in the late collection and storage of rare earths. In other words, prior to the collection and storage of rare earths, most of the rare earths were mainly medium and heavy rare earths, and there were fewer light rare earths in China. However, with the transformation of the market pattern, the market expectation of collecting, storing and absorbing light rare earths this year is on the rise, and the attitude of large manufacturers to promote prices and hesitate to sell is As of Friday, the price of praseodymium-neodymium oxide was 29.5-298000 yuan / ton, up 2500 yuan / ton from last Friday; the price of praseodymium-neodymium metal was 37.4-378000 yuan / ton, up 4500 yuan / ton from last Friday.

In terms of medium and heavy rare earths, the price of terbium has also risen, especially terbium. This week, the major groups are more reluctant to sell, and the quotations are strong, while the lower reaches feel the shift in market sentiment, which also speeds up the inquiry and procurement cycle. Of course, for terbium oxide and other products, the market supply stock is less, many manufacturers have full orders in August, the demand side procurement is more difficult, so promote the price up. In addition, inevitably, the expectation of terbium in the stock expectation has always been there, and it is expected to remain in the upward channel next month. As of Friday, the price of terbium oxide was 4600-4650 yuan / kg, up 75 yuan / kg from last Friday; the price of dysprosium oxide was 1840-1870 yuan / kg, up 10 yuan / kg from last Friday.

In August, SMM believes that the trend of rare earth prices will become clearer. On the one hand, the progress of the acquisition and storage incident will become clearer, and on the other hand, geopolitical factors may push rare earth prices to evolve more violently.
