Copper production in the first quantum second quarter was basically the same as that in the same period last year, gold production fell 8.4% year on year.

SMM7 March 29: first Quantum released its second-quarter results and production report yesterday. During the reporting period, the company produced 169059 tons of copper, basically the same as the same period last year, and 168399 tons in the same period last year. Copper sales were 159944 tons, up slightly from 149333 tons in the same period last year. Gold production was 54651 ounces, down 8.4 percent from 59647 ounces in the same period last year. Gold sales were 54591 ounces, compared with 56922 ounces in the same period last year.

In the first half of 2020, first Quantum produced a total of 364344 tons of copper, up 19% from the same period last year; gold production totaled 123439 ounces, up 13% from the same period last year.

In the second quarter, first quantum sales revenue rose 8 per cent year-on-year to $1.014 billion, while gross profit fell 28 per cent year-on-year to $141 million. Some of the financial indicators and data are shown in the following figure (unit: million dollars):
