2020/07/28:

According to data released by the General Administration of Customs, the export volume of aluminum cable in June 2020 was 19800 tons, down 1.2% from the previous month, an increase of 15.1% over the same period last year, and the cumulative export volume of aluminum cable from January to June 2020 was around 124900 tons, an increase of 20.8% over the same period last year. Here the aluminum cable contains two tariff numbers 76141000 and 76149000, that is, "uninsulated steel core aluminum strand, cable, braided and similar products" and "other non-insulated aluminum stranded wire, cable, braided tape and the like".

According to country data, Chinese aluminum cables were exported to a total of 113 countries in the first half of 2020, of which six countries accounted for more than 5% of the exports, namely, Pakistan, Cambodia, Myanmar, Brazil, Peru and South Korea. Pakistan accounted for the largest share, around 22.29%, followed by Cambodia with 7.45%. See the picture below for details. From the point of view of the distribution of exporting countries, it is mainly concentrated in Central Europe, Southeast Asia and Africa.

From the provinces and cities where cable exports are registered, the provinces and cities that account for more than 10% of the export volume are Beijing, Jiangsu Province, Henan Province and Hebei Province, of which Beijing accounts for 26.77%, followed by Jiangsu Province and Henan Province, accounting for 20.97% and 18.63%, respectively.

According to SMM, the export of aluminum cable enterprises has been affected to a certain extent in the context of this year's epidemic. Some enterprises said that export orders in Southeast Asia, such as India, have decreased, but because the epicenter of the foreign epidemic is in Europe and the Americas, the main export areas of aluminum cables, Central Europe, Southeast Asia, and Africa, are relatively limited, and the exporting countries are relatively scattered. The degree of frustration is not as obvious as that of products with relatively high exports such as aluminum strip and aluminum foil. (SMM Xu Man 021-51595898)
