SMM: foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin refuted the rumor on the 23rd that "the US request for China to close the Consulate General in Houston is that China has failed to facilitate the resumption of the US Consulate General in Wuhan", which is not true. On January 23, the United States unilaterally announced the temporary closure of the Consulate General in Wuhan and the evacuation of its staff. In June, some diplomats of the US Consulate General in Wuhan returned to Wuhan to resume operation of the museum. The Chinese side has been providing facilities for the US Consulate to perform its duties in accordance with the law.
