The energy-saving technology of electrolytic cell of Chinalco Group has been promoted by the energy-saving column of the National Development and Reform Commission.

SMM: recently, the "new steady flow thermal insulation aluminum reduction cell energy-saving technology" developed by Zhengzhou Research Institute of Chinalco Group, which has independent intellectual property rights, has been promoted as one of the top ten industrial energy-saving technologies in the National Development and Reform Commission website "Energy Saving publicity week" because of its excellent energy-saving and environmental protection effect.

It is understood that in 2019, the technology was rated as the "best energy-saving technology and best energy-saving practice" by the National Development and Reform Commission ("double Top Ten"). It is mainly used in the aluminum smelting industry that uses alumina as raw material to produce electrolytic aluminum. It is implemented on newly built or overhauled electrolytic cells, through the energy-saving technical transformation of new steady-flow thermal insulation aluminum electrolytic cells, including lining optimization, cathode optimization, furnace construction management, process parameter matching, and so on. To achieve a series of liquid aluminum tons of aluminum DC power consumption reduced to less than 12500 kilowatt hours, compared with the current average level of the industry to save more than 500kWh, power efficiency increased by 4% to 5%, with significant economic and social benefits.

It is understood that after the implementation of the project, DC power consumption per ton of aluminum has been reduced from 13115 kilowatt hours to 12450 kilowatt hours, the average operating voltage has been reduced to 3.82V, and the current efficiency is 91.4%. The annual power saving is about 84 million yuan, equivalent to about 64000 tons of standard coal, and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 150000 tons, and the cumulative economic benefit is about 93 million yuan.
