SMM: in an interview with the media on Sunday, Carlos Ghosn, former chairman of Nissan Motor, lashed out at his old employer, saying that the recent performance of Nissan and Renault was "pathetic" and more due to the lack of joint leadership than the new crown virus pandemic.

"this is a matter of market confidence," Ghosn said in an interview with French newspaper Le Parisien. Personally, I think the performance of Nissan and Renault is pathetic. The two companies are becoming more and more narrow. There is no real management mix between Renault and Nissan, but distrustful estrangement. "

Mr Ghosn compared the performance of Nissan and Renault with other carmakers, pointing out that the shares of competitors general motors and Toyota fell 12 per cent and 15 per cent respectively between November 2018 and June 2020, while Nissan and Renault plunged 55 per cent and 70 per cent, respectively.

"all these manufacturers are facing the same new crown crisis, but Renault and Nissan are being punished more than other manufacturers," he said. "

Copper Inventory Drops, Prices Fall, Stimulating Downstream Demand
According to data released by the SHFE on March 19, copper warrants saw significant declines across major regions, with total inventory dropping by 12,244 tons from the previous trading day, marking a substantial drawdown. Copper prices continued their downward trend during the day, with the trading range dipping to 94,000-95,800 yuan per ton. The price drop stimulated downstream companies' enthusiasm for buying on dips, pushing the spot premium/discount center upward. Taking advantage of the rebounding premiums, holders actively shipped their warrants, leading to a large outflow of inventory that was subsequently absorbed by downstream consumers. This indicates that current price levels have become increasingly attractive to end-users.
