SMM: in the second quarter, the utilization rate of industrial capacity across the country was 74.4%, down 2.0% from the same period last year and 7.1% higher than the first quarter. In the first half of the year, the utilization rate of industrial capacity across the country was 71.1 percent, down 5.1 percentage points from the same period last year.

Divided into three major categories, in the second quarter, the capacity utilization rate of the mining industry was 72.1%, down 2.5% from the same period last year and 5.0% higher than the first quarter; the capacity utilization rate of the manufacturing industry was 74.8%, down 2.1% from the same period last year and 7.6% higher than the first quarter. The capacity utilization rate of the electricity, heat, gas and water production and supply industries was 70.6 percent, down 0.2 percentage points from the same period last year and 2.8 percentage points higher than the first quarter.

In terms of major industries, in the second quarter, the capacity utilization rate of coal mining and washing industry was 69.6%, food manufacturing industry was 70.4%, textile industry was 72.7%, chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing industry was 74.2%, non-metallic mineral products industry was 68.2%, ferrous metal smelting and Calendering processing industry was 78.4%, non-ferrous metal smelting and Calendering processing industry was 79.2%, and general equipment manufacturing industry was 77.3%. 77.6% in special equipment manufacturing, 74.6% in automobile manufacturing, 78.1% in electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing, and 77.6% in computer, communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing.
