The added value of above-sized industries increased by 4.8% in June.

SMM: in June, industrial value added above scale increased by 4.8% in real terms compared with the same period last year (the following growth rates are all real growth rates excluding price factors), 0.4 percentage points faster than in May. On a month-on-month basis, the added value of industries above scale increased by 1.30% in June over the previous month. From January to June, the added value of industries above scale decreased by 1.3% compared with the same period last year.

Divided into three major categories, in June, the added value of the mining industry grew 1.7 percent year on year, 0.6 percentage points faster than in May; the manufacturing industry grew 5.1 percent, down 0.1 percentage points; and the electricity, heat, gas and water production and supply industries grew 5.5 percent, 1.9 percentage points faster.

In terms of economic type, in June, the added value of state-owned holding enterprises increased by 4.9% compared with the same period last year; joint-stock enterprises grew by 5.0%; foreign investors and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan business investment enterprises increased by 4.2%; and private enterprises grew by 4.8%.

In June, the added value of 26 of the 41 major industries maintained year-on-year growth. The agricultural and non-staple food processing industry decreased by 2.4%, the textile industry increased by 3.2%, the chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing industry grew by 4.0%, the non-metallic mineral products industry grew by 4.8%, and the ferrous metal smelting and Calendering processing industry grew by 6.3%. The non-ferrous metal smelting and Calendering processing industry increased by 2.8%, the general equipment manufacturing industry grew by 7.4%, and the special equipment manufacturing industry grew by 9.6%. The automobile manufacturing industry grew by 13.4 percent, the railway, shipping, aerospace and other transport equipment manufacturing industries decreased by 1.2 percent, the electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry increased by 8.7 percent, and the computer, communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries increased by 12.6 percent. Electricity, thermal production and supply increased by 6.3%.

From a regional point of view, in June, the added value of the eastern region increased by 5.4% compared with the same period last year, the central region by 4.7%, the western region by 4.6%, and the northeast region by 6.9%.

From a product-by-product point of view, 355 of the 612 products increased in June compared with the same period last year. 115.85 million tons of steel, up 7.5 percent over the same period last year; 228.65 million tons of cement, up 8.4 percent; 5.08 million tons of 10 non-ferrous metals, up 3.1 percent; 1.59 million tons of ethylene, down 4.3 percent; 2.311 million cars, up 20.4 percent, of which 114000 new energy vehicles, down 18.6 percent; electricity generation of 630.4 billion kilowatt hours, up 6.5 percent; and crude oil processing volume of 57.87 million tons, up 9.0 percent.

In June, the product sales rate of industrial enterprises was 97.8%, an increase of 0.5% over the same month last year; the export delivery value of industrial enterprises was 1.065 trillion yuan, a nominal increase of 2.6% over the same period last year.
