Battery alliance: 4.7GWh of power battery loading dropped 29.1% year on year in June

SMM: July 10, China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance released data on battery production, sales and loading of new energy vehicles in June 2020.

In June, China's power battery production totaled 5.3 GWH, down 16.2% from the same period last year and up 3% from the previous month. Among them, the output of ternary batteries was 3.1 GWH, accounting for 58.9% of the total output, down 30.7% from the same period last year, up 2.6% from the previous year; and the output of lithium iron phosphate batteries was 2.2 GWH, accounting for 40.8% of the total output, up 29.1% from the same period last year and 3.9% from the previous year.

From January to June, China's power battery output totaled 23.5 GWH, down 45.8% from the same period last year. Among them, the output of ternary batteries totaled 14.8 GWh, accounting for 62.9 percent of the total output, down 46.1 percent from the same period last year; and the output of lithium iron phosphate batteries totaled 8.7 GWH, accounting for 36.9 percent of the total output, down 37.6 percent from the same period last year.

In terms of loading, in June 2020, the installed capacity of power batteries in China was 4.7 GWH, down 29.1% from the same period last year and an increase of 34% compared with the same period last year.

Among them, the total loading of ternary batteries was 3GWH, down 36.2% from the same period last year, up 12.1% from the previous year; and the total loading of lithium iron phosphate batteries was 1.7GWh, down 4% from the same period last year, with an increase of 106.4%.

In the previous six months, the total number of power batteries installed in China totaled 17.5 GWH, down 41.8 percent from the same period last year. Among them, the total loading of ternary batteries was 12.6 GWH, accounting for 72.2% of the total loading, down 40.9% from the same period last year; and the total loading of lithium iron phosphate batteries was 4.7 GWH, accounting for 27.1% of the total loading, down 39.6% from the same period last year.

In terms of enterprises, in June 2020, a total of 48 power battery enterprises were installed in China's new energy vehicle market, an increase of 6 compared with May. The power battery loads of the top three, the top five and the top 10 power battery companies are 3.4GWh, 3.9GWh and 4.4GWH respectively, accounting for 72.3%, 82.4% and 92.9% of the total load, respectively.

From January to June, a total of 59 power battery enterprises were installed in China's new energy vehicle market, 5 fewer than the same period last year. The number of power battery installed in the top 3, top 5 and top 10 power battery enterprises was 12.6 GWh, 14.5 GWh and 16.4 GWh respectively, accounting for 71.9%, 82.9% and 93.8% of the total installed capacity, respectively.

In terms of the average installed electricity per vehicle, in June 2020, the average installed electricity of new energy vehicles by type of vehicle in China was 51.5kWhh, down 10.3% from the previous month. Among them, the average carrying capacity of pure electric buses is 217.4kWh/, down 8% from the previous month.

In June 2020, China's pure electric passenger vehicle system energy density of 160Wh/kg and above accounted for a significant increase in output, reaching 46.3%, an increase of 15 percentage points compared with May; the proportion of 125mm-140Wh/kg and 140160Wh/kg models accounted for 20. 5% and 31. 5% respectively. 2%, accounting for 2.0% of models below 125Wh/kg, a slight increase over May.
