Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: in the previous month, the revenue of large-scale battery manufacturing enterprises nationwide decreased by 249 billion compared with the same period last year.

SMM: July 3, the Consumer goods Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the operation of the battery industry from January to May 2020.

In terms of production, from January to May 2020, among the main products of the national battery manufacturing industry, the output of lithium-ion batteries was 5.51 billion, down 1.2 percent from the same period last year; the output of lead-acid batteries was 76.389 million kilovolts, an increase of 2.9 percent over the same period last year; and the output of primary batteries and primary battery packs (non-buckle type) was 14.13 billion, down 3.7 percent from the same period last year.

In May, the national output of lithium-ion batteries was 1.45 billion, up 14.1% from the same period last year; the output of lead-acid batteries was 19.374 million KVA, up 17.7% from the same period last year; and the output of primary batteries and primary battery packs (non-buckle type) was 3.35 billion, up 1.1% from the same period last year.

In terms of benefits, from January to May 2020, the operating income of battery manufacturing enterprises above the national scale was 249 billion yuan, down 11.5% from the same period last year, and the total profit was 9.46 billion yuan, down 7.7% from the same period last year.
