SMM7 March 3: according to SMM research, this week (June 29-July 3) the weekly comprehensive operating rate of lead battery enterprises in the five provinces of SMM was 63.69%, up 0.27% from last Friday.

It is understood that the terminal consumption of lead-acid battery market has not improved significantly for the time being. At the same time, due to the influence of rainstorm in some areas, the sales volume of dealers has weakened, among which the electric bicycle market is expected to be boosted by recent price increases, and some retailers are slightly more enthusiastic in purchasing. In addition, in terms of enterprise production, in July, taking into account the traditional consumption peak season from July to August, the production of a small and medium-sized production enterprises has increased steadily; while due to the Dragon Boat Festival holiday last week, small and medium-sized enterprises have a holiday for three days, and the consumption of lead ingots has decreased, so after the resumption of this week, the need for replenishment after the festival has not been more reflected.

As of February 6, 2026, the ex-factory tax-exclusive offers for domestic secondary crude lead stood at 15,250-15,400 yuan/mt. Downstream refined lead and alloy smelters gradually entered the holiday period, showing weak stockpiling willingness. Overseas lead ingot suppliers basically halted transactions with China due to poor consumption in the Chinese market, with only some previously concluded shipments maintaining normal in-transit transportation. The trading atmosphere in the secondary crude lead market will continue to weaken next week.
