SMM: it is reported that Volvo will recall 2183701 cars worldwide to repair a steel wire connected to the seat belt, which may reduce the restraint capacity of the front seat belt. It was the largest recall in Volvo's 93-year history.

Of the vehicles to be recalled, 412000 are in Sweden, 308000 in the United States, 245000 in China, 178000 in Germany and 169000 in the UK. The models affected are Volvo S60, S60L, S60CC, V60, V60CC, XC60, V70, XC70, S80 and S80L produced between 2006 and 2019.

Volvo will start contacting the affected owners by letter this month, who will need to drive the vehicle to a local Volvo dealer and replace the steel wire with a fixed bracket. The original parts and replacement parts are from the Swedish supplier Otto Liv. "the recall is a strong solution to eliminate the risk of this problem in the future," Volvo said. At present, there have been no accidents or casualties related to this problem. "

Earlier, Volvo was recalled in March because of problems with its emergency braking system, which recalled about 740000 vehicles worldwide because the automatic emergency braking system (AEB) could not brake automatically under certain conditions and expected temperatures, covering almost all Volvo cars on sale.
