"in 2019, the company invested nearly 7 million yuan to upgrade environmental protection facilities. 99% of the waste discharged after the transformation can be reused, which can save enterprises nearly 2 million yuan in raw materials costs a year." Through innovation, Xi Aluminum broadens the reuse channel, revamps the wastewater treatment facilities, adopts the process of "filtration + ultrafiltration + reverse osmosis", reuses the treated wastewater in the circulating water system, and the rest is used to replenish water in slag flushing and desulphurization system, dust suppression in coal yard, ash flushing in dewatering bunker and other recycling. After all the domestic sewage is treated and comprehensively utilized, it is recovered to the cooling tower of the power plant and reused as supplementary water. "through the innovation cycle of the industrial chain, the production link of the company has realized the closed loop and cascade utilization of energy, and the whole process has not produced any waste pollution." Xi aluminum party committee secretary, deputy general manager Peng Jiannan told reporters.

The waste generated by the previous production process is reused as the raw material of the next production process, recycled continuously, and finally a closed loop is formed. Such a "green cycle" closed loop is full of innovative ideas.

Xi Aluminum designs and produces electrolytic aluminum with an annual scale of 860000 tons and has three electrolytic aluminum production series with a total of 912 large electrolytic cells. the exhaust temperature of the electrolytic cell is between 110C and 140C, which is higher in summer and lower in winter. it contains a lot of low-grade heat energy and is continuous and stable. in the past, this part of the heat energy was often discharged directly into the air.

"this is a very good business opportunity. The company adopts advanced and efficient waste heat recovery technology and starts the project of 'low temperature flue gas waste heat utilization'. We will use the waste heat of Xi aluminum exhaust gas, and good economic and social benefits can be obtained." Wang Huali, general manager of Inner Mongolia North Control Thermal Power Co., Ltd.

According to Wang Huali, the working principle of "waste heat utilization and transformation of low-temperature flue gas" is that after the heat is exchanged out of the flue gas heat exchanger in winter, the heat is exchanged into the heating heat exchanger and the water in the heating network, and the external heating is provided through the first heating station. In summer, after heat exchange, the flue gas heat exchanger goes into the power generation equipment to exchange heat for low-temperature power generation.

The project of "waste heat utilization of low temperature flue gas" is expected to save 34120 tons of standard coal, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 86700 tons, reduce smoke and dust emissions by 81.2 tons, reduce sulfur dioxide emissions by 1023.6 tons, and reduce ash emissions by 22500 tons a year. 4.73 million trees are planted every year.

"We have always supported enterprises in strengthening technological innovation and management, promoting link symbiosis among enterprises, parks and industries, mutual supply of raw materials and sharing of resources, significantly reducing the level of energy consumption, material consumption and water consumption, and promoting efficient recycling of resources." Protection of wetlands along the Yellow River Economic Zone

The reporter saw in the rare earth high-tech section of Erdaosha River that the construction of the water ecological tail pipeline project of the river is being carried out one after another. After the project is completed, it will carry 85% of the sewage purification capacity of Baotou City. On the east and west sides of the river, the ecological slope protection project is in full swing. "at present, the problem of the 'four chaos' along the Yellow River has been basically cleaned up, the environment is becoming more and more fresh and beautiful, and the appearance of rivers and lakes has also been effectively improved." Fu Hengkai said happily.

The reporter learned that in 2019 alone, Baotou rare Earth High-tech Zone implemented three ecological construction projects along the Yellow River with a total investment of 5.45 billion yuan, focusing on promoting projects such as the landscape belt around the Xiaobai River, the comprehensive management of the Sidao Shahe River, and the ecological management of saline-alkalized wetlands in the Xiaobai River region. We will thoroughly implement the "river and lake director system", strengthen the treatment and protection of rivers and lakes such as Erdaosha River and Sidao Shahe River, and speed up water control and quality improvement projects such as the expansion of Wanshuiquan sewage treatment plant and the construction of Erdaosha River pipe network. The treatment of domestic sewage in cities and towns and wastewater from industrial parks has been improved in an all-round way.

In 2019, Baotou rare Earth High-tech Zone invested nearly 10 million yuan to build a 600m2 laboratory in the Environmental Protection Bureau. After the laboratory is completed, it can carry out large-scale enterprise environmental protection related data monitoring. "at present, we have purchased 7 large-scale instruments and equipment, and are in the process of certification and evaluation of CMA testing capability and reliability." Guo Li, deputy commander of the environmental monitoring brigade of the Environmental Protection Bureau of the rare Earth High-tech Zone, said.
