The high-quality rare earth special steel pilot project cooperated by the Institute of Metals of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Baotou Steel Group has solved the technical problem of adding rare earth to the steel, which is expected to lead to an industrial scale of 10 billion after the completion of industrialization. China Science and Technology Xuan reached 600 tons of rare earth magnesium-nickel hydrogen storage alloy pilot project, the product performance reached the international leading level and broke the foreign monopoly. The industrialization project of 10, 000 tons of high-purity alumina in Saifuer, which has the leading level in the world, fills the gap of high-end products of non-ferrous metals in China. In 2019 alone, Baotou rare Earth High-tech Zone organized 39 enterprises to pass the evaluation of national high-tech enterprises at the Inner Mongolia Autonomous region level, accounting for 57% of Baotou City's 13 enterprises applying for municipal science and technology "Little Giant" enterprises, accounting for 56% of Baotou City's 17 enterprises applying for city-level innovation-leading private enterprises, accounting for 68% of Baotou City. Rare earth enterprises and scientific research institutions participated in the drafting of 160 national and industry standards, accounting for more than 60% of the total number of national and industry standards.
