Shanghai-bonded zinc stocks dipped 500 mt on week

Inventories of zinc ingot across Shanghai-bonded areas fell slightly this week, as wide import losses and high zinc prices limited demand for imported zinc.

SHANGHAI, Jun 19 (SMM) – Inventories of zinc ingot across Shanghai-bonded areas fell slightly this week, as wide import losses and high zinc prices limited demand for imported zinc.

The stocks dipped 500 mt in the week ended June 19 to 43,000 mt, after falling by the same margin in the previous week, showed SMM data. The stocks have fallen for nine consecutive weeks.

Social inventories of lead ingots across Shanghai, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Tianjin expanded 13,600 mt from last Friday July 23 to 172,600 mt as of July 30. This was up 6,500 mt from Monday July 26 and registered a new high since October 2014.
