






SMM: a report released by the World Bureau of Metals Statistics (WBMS) on Wednesday shows that there is a shortage of 12000 tons of tin in the global tin market from January to April 2020.
The total reported inventory is 8800 tons below the level at the end of 2019.
Demand is measured on an apparent basis, and the full impact of the national blockade imposed to contain the new crown pneumonia epidemic may not be fully reflected in trade statistics.
From January to April 2020, the global reported refined tin production decreased by 1900 tons compared with the same period last year. Apparent demand in China increased by 11 per cent compared with the same period last year.
From January to April 2020, global tin demand was 126700 tons, an increase of 5.3 per cent over the same period last year. Japanese demand was 7300 tons, down 19% from January-April last year.
In April 2020, the global refined tin production was 28100 tons and the consumption was 31600 tons.
