Primary lead smelters operating rates fell 1.5 percentage points

Operating rates across primary lead smelters in Henan, Hunan and Yunnan provinces averaged 50.8% in the week ended June 5, down 1.5 percentage points from the week before, showed an SMM survey.

SHANGHAI, Jun 5 (SMM) – Operating rates across primary lead smelters in Henan, Hunan and Yunnan provinces averaged 50.8% in the week ended June 5, down 1.5 percentage points from the week before, showed an SMM survey.

The operating rate for Henan dipped 0.9 percentage point to 62.9%, as Yuguang closed a production line for facility relocation.

Maintenance at Yunnan Chihong began to affect its production of refined lead, lowering the average operating rate for the entire region of Yunnan by 5.5 percentage points to 28.1%.

The operating rate for Hunan remained unchanged at 45%. Jingui plans to conduct maintenance.
