Chilean Copper Union and miners start wage negotiations difficult to raise wages under the epidemic

iconMay 30, 2020 20:48

SMM5 March 30: the Chilean Copper Union is entering a wave of wage negotiations. Affected by the epidemic, some large comprehensive miners, such as Glencore, Chilean national copper, Antofagasta and so on, will have a certain negotiation advantage.

Chilean copper workers believe that they should be adequately paid to work in a high-risk environment.

However, their position did not receive much support. Chilean copper union leaders said it would be more difficult to increase wages, bonuses and benefits as the new crown epidemic swept the global copper market and hit the profits of the country's miners.
