Chile's GDP grew 0.4% in the first quarter compared with the same period last year

SMM5 March 21: according to the Central Bank of Chile, the country's GDP grew 0.4% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2020, exceeding expectations. The country's GDP grew 1.4 per cent year-on-year in the same period in 2019, while Chile's GDP fell 2.1 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2019.

Of this total, financial services GDP grew by 6.5 per cent year-on-year, construction GDP by 5.3 per cent and mining GDP by 5.1 per cent.
