SMM: recently, it is reported that after super factories in Reno, Nevada, Buffalo, Shanghai and Berlin have been put into production or started construction, Tesla, which plans to build 10 to 12 super factories around the world, is also planning the next super factory. Sources revealed that Musk has chosen to build in Austin, Texas.

Foreign media reported that Tesla's next factory location in Austin, Texas, was revealed by a very reliable source.

However, the source only revealed that Musk has chosen Austin and has not yet determined the exact location of the factory, but the source said that even if the factory is not in Austin, it will at least be close to Austin. Tesla currently has a number of locations to choose from in Austin, but no final decision has been made.

Foreign media reports also show that Tesla's plant in Austin will be used to produce electric pickup truck Cybertruck and cross-border sports utility electric vehicle Model Y. the former was launched in November last year and is scheduled to start mass production next year, while the latter was launched in March last year. Production began at the assembly plant in Fremont in January and delivery began in March.

According to foreign media reports, Musk hopes that the factory will start construction and start production quickly. He has asked the engineering team of the super factory in Nevada to start matters related to the new factory. The goal is to produce Model Y by the end of this year. The planned construction speed is much faster than that of the Shanghai super factory, which took only 11 months from construction to approval for production.

Of course, sources also revealed that Tesla's goal should be to build a final assembly line with production capacity by the end of the year, and they will continue to build factories in order to increase the capacity of different parts next year and start producing electric pickups later next year.

SMM learned that overseas mine production cuts, extreme weather in South America, and declining ore grades and recovery rates were intensively discussed during a recent industry association meeting. These concerns strengthened expectations of tighter overseas molybdenum supply, stimulated some buying and pushed molybdenum oxide prices to around $34/lb Mo. Supply-side expectations continue to support prices, while some mine production, grade and recovery issues may not improve materially until around 2028. China’s market also remains firm, but elevated prices are discouraging chasing. Well-funded buyers, low-inventory users and producers with firm orders continue to purchase as needed, while processors mainly restock to maintain production.

[Improving marginal transactions, magnesium ingot consolidates in the short term] Today, China's magnesium ingot offers held steady at 15,800 yuan/mt. Some traders entered the market to stockpile, driving a slight recovery in transactions and easing bearish sentiment. The subsequent market trend will still depend on the follow-through strength of restocking orders, with the short-term market maintaining a fluctuating trend.

Jintian Titanium to Raise $30M for Phase II of Advanced Titanium Alloy Project
【SMM Titanium Flash】On September 14th, Jintian Titanium Industry disclosed a private placement plan, intending to raise no more than 300 million yuan to invest in the construction of an advanced titanium alloy industrialization project for high-end equipment (Phase II). The project will add a 10,000-tonne ultra-large rapid forging unit to enhance the forging capacity of large-sized bars and extra-heavy wide forgings. The company's main products include titanium and titanium alloy bars, forgings, and components. It has already delivered batches of titanium alloy high-pressure gas cylinders to units under China Shipbuilding. The main structure of the Phase I project has been completed, and equipment joint debugging and testing have been completed. After commissioning, it will increase the annual production capacity of titanium alloy bars by 2,800 tonnes and forgings by 200 tonnes. With the implementation of the Phase II project, the company's supply capacity of high-end titanium materials for aerospace and marine equipment is expected to further enhance.
