SMM5 March 15: recently, Hudbay Minerals said that the epidemic has had a significant impact on the company and the prices of the products it sells.

Since the outbreak, the company's operations and supply chain have been disrupted, such as the suspension of operations at the Constancia copper mine in Peru for eight weeks.

Constancia received approval from Peru's mining and energy sector on May 14th and plans to resume operations this week.

Based on the uncertainty of the epidemic and the recent shutdown of the Constancia copper mine, Hudbay plans to determine Constancia production targets based on production data for the second quarter.

In the first quarter, Hudbay produced a total of 24635 tons of copper, down 24 percent from the previous quarter and 35 percent from the same period last year, mainly due to lower ore grade and lower ore production at the Constancia copper mine. Zinc production was 30355 tons, basically the same as in the fourth quarter of last year, mainly because the decline in production at the Flin Flon plant was offset by high output from the Lalor mine and the Stall plant; gold production was 30495 ounces, down 19 percent from the same period last year; and silver production was 767692 ounces, down 16 percent from the same period last year. The details are as follows:

Production
mining
non-ferrous metals
