[SMM investigation] the weekly start-up rate of new production and landing certificate of recycled lead enterprises increased by 2.4%.

SMM, 15 May:

As a result of Anhui Dahua's production last week, SMM increased the annual production capacity of recycled lead in Anhui by 200000 tons to 1.04 million tons, and the annual production capacity of recycled lead in four places to 3.156 million tons. The weekly operating rate of licensed recycled lead covering new production enterprises is compared with the new and old caliber as shown in the table below.

According to SMM (SMM) research, this week (May 9-May 15) SMM recycled lead license smelter weekly operating rate of 49.4%, month-on-month compared with last week's new caliber weekly operating rate (40.0%) up 2.4%. Among them, the operating rate of Guizhou recycled lead license smelting enterprises is 65.1%, that of Jiangsu recycled lead license smelting enterprises is 53.3%, and that of Henan recycled lead license smelting enterprises is 45.5%. The operating rates of the three places are stable. The operating rate of Anhui recycled lead smelting enterprises is 41.5%, up 9.2% from last week's new caliber start rate (32.3%). The main Anhui Dahua put in raw output over the weekend, with an initial daily output of 100-200 tons, which is now about 400 tons per day, and there are plans for further production increases next week.

The domestic secondary crude lead market experienced sluggish transactions. As of February 6, 2026, the ex-factory tax-exclusive offers for domestic secondary crude lead stood at 15,250-15,400 yuan/mt. Downstream refined lead and alloy smelters gradually entered the holiday period, showing weak stockpiling willingness. Overseas lead ingot suppliers basically halted transactions with China due to poor consumption in the Chinese market, with only some previously concluded shipments maintaining normal in-transit transportation. The trading atmosphere in the secondary crude lead market will continue to weaken next week.
