May 15, SMM: before and after Labour Day short holiday, antimony market prices have been stable, domestic and foreign market demand has not changed much. Because the actual number of valid orders does not change much, so under the condition of stable market price, because the supplier's expectation of the overall demand change for a period of time in the future is weak, there are also many suppliers competing for the effective orders in the current market. This also makes some manufacturers and shippers dare not raise prices easily, and it is rumored that some shippers in Lengshuijiang area have even begun to reduce prices. And the buyer is still in a wait-and-see state, the purchase is also basically just need to buy, coupled with the current price reduction of the supplier is not large, the downstream purchase mood has not yet been fully mobilized.

In terms of antimony ingots, the average price of SMM antimony ingots as of the weekend: 35000 yuan / ton for low bismuth antimony ingots, 35500 yuan / ton for antimony ingots, 36500 yuan / ton for antimony ingots, and 33000 yuan / ton for antimony ingots with high bismuth, down 500 yuan / ton compared with last week. Market participants reflect that due to the current market inventory pressure is not great, so although the current antimony ingot price is weak, but the factory mentality is still stable, there is no competitive sell-off, it is expected that there is little possibility of a sharp decline in the short term. Antimony oxide market prices followed antimony ingots on Wednesday, weakening slightly under the influence of antimony ingots. By the end of the week, the average price of SMM antimony trioxide was 99.5 per cent at 33000 yuan / tonne and 99.8 per cent at 34500 yuan / tonne, down 500 yuan / tonne from last week.

Zimbabwe Bans Antimony, Tungsten Exports to Boost Domestic Processing
Market sources state that Zimbabwe has imposed an immediate ban on exports of antimony and tungsten effective September 8, 2026, alongside a halt to outward shipments of ores and concentrates. The measure aims to boost domestic refining and processing of its mining resources and raise resource value‑added benefits. The ban was announced in a letter from Thomas Ushe, Secretary of Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Mines, to the state‑owned Minerals Marketing Corporation of Zimbabwe. Previously in May 2026, Zimbabwe included antimony in its list of 14 “critical minerals” and banned exports of raw ores. The new order further extends restrictions to all forms of antimony and tungsten exports.
