SMM5, May 15: may 14 LME copper stocks surged 55650 tons to 282675 tons. LME aluminum stocks increased by 9775 tons to 1361575 tons. LME lead stocks were reduced by 200 tons to 74675 tons. LME zinc stocks were reduced by 75 tons to 99025 tons. LME tin stocks fell 430 tonnes, or 9.1%, to 4295 tonnes, the biggest drop since August last year. LME nickel stocks increased by 294 tons to 233604 tons.
According to SMM, the surge in LME copper inventories was mainly due to poor overseas consumption and the transfer of overstocked inventories to LME warehouses.
